Run the whole sky survey
from a browser.

BOSSky is the web control room for Bosscha Observatory's sky brightness monitoring. It plans an all-sky survey, hands it to NINA, and lets you watch the telescope, dome and cameras work, from anywhere on the network.

Plan

All-sky survey planner

Set the area each pointing should cover and BOSSky lays out an even grid over the sky, with elevation limits plus meridian and pole buffers so the telescope never goes where it should not.

Optimise

Shortest path, automatically

Pointings are ordered by a travelling-salesman search so the mount spends its time exposing instead of slewing. The route is drawn on the sky map with numbered points.

Scale

One survey, several telescopes

Split the sky by azimuth across any number of telescopes, each with its own route and its own NINA template.

Hand off

Straight into NINA

Export a ready-to-run NINA Advanced Sequence, or load it into NINA with one click. CSV export is there when you need the raw coordinates.

Edit

Fix the plan by hand

Click a point on the sky map to move or delete it, or add one manually by azimuth and altitude. Estimated time updates as you go.

Watch

Live dashboard

Sequence state and progress, survey points coloured by status, the all-sky camera, camera readouts and a ZWO webcam, all refreshing while you work. Rearrange the cards by dragging.

Control

Camera, focuser and filters

Connect the camera, cool or warm to a target temperature, take a preview, change filters, move the focuser and trigger autofocus.

Point

Telescope and dome

Slew by RA and Dec, park, unpark, flip and stop. Open, close and stop the dome shutter. Every status field is on the same page.

Calibrate

Frames filed and ready

New FITS files are picked up from a watched folder and catalogued by telescope, night, filter, binning, exposure and temperature. Queue master bias, dark and flat builds from the browser.

Dashboard

See the sky and the survey side by side

The dashboard pulls the all-sky camera, sequence progress and survey map into one view, with a live latency badge for the link to the observatory and an emergency stop within reach. Switch between light and dark for the dome.
